Shizuoka 静岡
Shizuoka is a prefecture that sits along the coast facing the Pacific Ocean. Shizuoka is also partially home to Mt. Fuji, Japan's tallest mountain.
Hamamatsu 浜松
Access: The Tokaido Shinkansen connects directly with Hamamatsu from Tokyo station. The trip takes just under 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Shizuoka City 静岡市
Access: The easiest way to get to Shizuoka is to take a bullet train from Tokyo which will take you to Shizuoka Station in about an hour.

Fuji City 富士市
Access: Take the bullet train to Shin-Fuji.

Numazu 沼津
Numazu is a port city located on the edge of Suruga Bay. It's primarily known for it's port which offers a lot of delicious sea food.
Access: Numazu is just one station away from Mishima on the Tokaido Line, which makes it well worth going to if you made plans to visit Mishima.

Atami 熱海
Atami is a seaside city famous for its hot springs.
Access: Atami is a short trip from Tokyo and the bullet train can take you directly to Atami in 45 minutes on the Tokaido bullet train.
Main Attractions: MOA (Museum of Art), Atami Castle, Hatsushima
Atami is a popular getaway for Tokyoites seeking a weekend escape from the hustle and bustle to relax in the hot springs. As one of the closest onsen resorts to Tokyo, it is also an excellent destination for day trips.
Our recommendation
If you're looking for a bit of relaxation, we absolutely recommend going to Ocean Spa Fuua! The facility has one of Japan's largest standing baths, offering an amazing view of the city and the ocean. The spa is conveniently located close to the ropeway to Atami Castle and the Hatsushima Ferry terminal so why not relax at this bath after a day of sight-seeing!
Atami Castle 熱海城
Atami Castle is a castle on a hill that offers fantastic views of Atami. You can get there by taking the Yuyu Sightseeing Loop Bus from Atami Station. You could also get off at Marine Spa Atami and there is a ropeway which takes you up close to the castle.
Gotemba 御殿場
Gotemba is a small city nearby Mt Fuji. The city is known for its outlet mall, safari park and other attractions.
Access:
By bus: There are buses that go directly to Gotemba from various major points of Tokyo such as Shinjuku and Tokyo Station.
By Train: There is a direct express train on the Odakyu line from Shinjuku station which takes around an 1 hour and forty minutes.

Gotemba Premium Outlet Mall
御殿場プレミアムアウトレット
Gotemba Premium Outlet Mall is one of Japan's most popular outlet malls, with over 250 different shops and also a splendid view of Mt. Fuji. It's a great stop if you are in the area and want to do a little shopping as well.
Tokinosumika 時の栖
Tokinosumika is a family friendly resort just south of Gotemba. The resort boasts a variety of attractions, including numerous restaurants, onsens, an aquarium, bouldering facilities, and many other activities. It is also home to Japan's tallest fountain, which features a spectacular light show in the evenings. Additionally, Tokinosumika offers stunning views of Mt. Fuji, thanks to its close proximity to the iconic mountain.
Our recommendation
Glamping (glam camping) has gained popularity in Japan in recent years. Tokinosumika offers glamping for those that want to immerse themselves in nature but want a bit more comfort than regular camping. The glampsite has one of the best views of Mt. Fuji at Tokinosumika.
Fuji Safari Park 富士サファリパーク
It's hard to imagine a picture of a cheetah and Mt. Fuji in the same shot but this is possible at Mt. Fuji Safari Park, a popular safari park near Mt. Fuji.
